Pirate Pups Run/Walk 5k

5k run/walk to support the therapy pups serving Pinckney Community Schools (PCS) taking place right at Pinckney High School!

*This event is a community fundraiser.  No top finisher prizes will be awarded (outside of bragging rights) in order to keep costs low and focus on raising funds for our amazing therapy pups!*

5k Run/Walk Start Time: 9:30 AM

The 5k is a timed event and results will be posted and available (no prizes awarded to top finishers).  The 5k course starts at the Pinckney High School track, exits the school property and tours a nearby subdivision before coming back into the High School and finishing back on the track. 

The therapy pups will be present at the event!  Unfortunately, for the safety of our therapy pups and runners, no other dogs or pets are able to attend this event.  Thank you for understanding!

PCS is lucky to have five therapy pups across all schools. Therapy dogs in schools have become an essential element of the educational environment, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere. These specially trained animals play a role in promoting the well-being and academic success of students. The dogs go from classroom to classroom, interacting with students and teachers. Along with boosting morale, they also help with anxiety and depression. The benefits are emotional support, reduced stress, and some academic improvement.

All of Pinckney's therapy pups are bred responsibly and undergo intensive training and assessments to ensure they have the right temperament to spend time in our schools.  Their handlers are vetted to ensure they stay sharp and on program.  We are proud to be organizing this community event to provide funds that will go directly to the ongoing care for these, and future, Pirate therapy pups.  Thank you for your participation, we hope you enjoy the event and that it is fun for your whole family!
