About MIU Men's Health Foundation

What does the MIU Men's Health Foundation do? Take a look at just a few of our program and services to learn more!

  • In 2017, The Men’s Health Event at Ford Field provided over 11,500 FREE life-saving screenings to over 1300 attendees. One gentleman returned to say “thank you”. He attended the 2016 event and during his oral cancer screening a suspicious spot was found. It was cancer. After receiving follow-up treatment, he is cancer free! We expanded The Men’s Health Event to Flint, providing much needed screenings and information to a community still dealing with the affects of lead.
  • The Blue Fund, providing limited short-term financial assistance to prostate cancer patients during active treatment, funded 16 applications for over $11,000 in financial support in 2017.
  • The Prostate Cancer Survivorship Series continues to impact over 150 prostate cancer survivors and their families as they meet to learn about the disease as well as share experience and moments of survivorship. Join our next event!

What else do we have planned for Men's Health Week this June? Join us at our other signature events!

  • Cogs and Kegs will take place on Monday, June 11, 2018 in Birmingham with over 100 cyclists tackling a 10 and 30 mile course to raise funds for men's health and enjoy a beer!
  • Blue Monday will be held on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Campus Martius with live music, health screenings, give-aways and more - all designed to increase the awareness of men’s health in Detroit.
