Main Street Mile

With dangerously cold temperatures expected this weekend (forecasted wind chills near –20°), we have made the difficult decision to cancel the in-person Main Street Mile for the safety of our runners and our volunteers. Our race timer and volunteer team would be potentially need to be outside for over an hour for setup and their shifts, and we are not comfortable putting anyone in that position. As much as we love a good Minnesota winter race, these conditions are simply not safe or enjoyable.

We are shifting to a virtual option so you can still earn your finisher medal and complete your mile on your own time—outside, of course, in true Main Street Mile fashion! The temperature you choose to run in is completely up to you.

Main Street Mile is a 1 mile race around the downtown Annandale area and finishing in front of City Hall. This is a family-friendly event for runners of all abilities. 
Bring your friends, your coworkers, your family, or strangers to run your fastest mile and possibly compete for some cool and unique awards.

A portion of race proceeds will be donated to help the community. This will primarily be to students at Annandale schools, but also to the Annandale volunteer Police Officers. The Main Street Mile is 2 weeks before Christmas and this will be a great time to donate money to kids in our community who could use help. The Annandale volunteer reserve officers will be volunteering their time to make sure this is a successful and safe event.

Our goal is to make this race accessible to all and to that end race shirts are an added charge to the race fee.
Race t-shirts are $19.

Main Street Mile kicks off the Main Street Holiday festivities. Come run your race with your family, then stick around for some holiday fun for people of all ages!

Teaming up with the Snowflake Shuffle: For the fouth straight year, the Snowflake Shuffle and Main Street Mile are teaming up to get more runners involved! The Snowflake Shuffle is held at the College of Saint Benedict in St Joseph on Saturday, Dec 6!

We will be giving a trophy to the male and female runners with the fastest combined times! 
In 2022, there were 11 runners who participated in both events. 
2022 female winner Lisa Hines had a combined time of 32:06.0
2022 male winner Justin Darrow had a combined time of 22:14.9

In 2023, there were 6 runners who participated in both events. 
2023 female winner Jacki Devine had a combined time of 31:57.5
