All About the Ruck & Litter-Carry
A ruck is walking, jogging, or running with a weighted vest or while carrying additional weight. Participants will wear or carry 25lbs or 15lbs while completing the 4-mile route.
The litter-carry options are a team effort. This event has been designed to be similar to military medevac training. Medevac operations involve units of rescuers entering a zone to recover an injured person from a dangerous area. The team places a person on a stretcher (litter) and takes turns carrying the individual from the zone to safety. Often, the rescuers are carrying more than just the stretcher which makes this type of activity especially challenging! Team participants will take turns carrying a litter while completing the 4-mile course. The competitive team division is required to wear a ruck of 25lbs or 15lbs in addition to carrying the litter.
