Description
The Annual Mizzou Ophthalmology 5K Run/Walk will be hosted by the University of Missouri’s Ophthalmology Department to support MedZou’s free clinic for underserved patients in Columbia, Missouri. The event is set to take place at Twin Lakes Recreation Area at the Twin Lakes Shelter on Saturday, April 5th, at 9:00 am. Participants are encouraged to arrive at 8:30 am for check-in. Following the race, participants are invited to stay for refreshments and an award ceremony. Kids, pets, families are encouraged to attend!
Event Purpose: To raise funds for MedZou's Community Health Clinic, which provides essential ophthalmologic care to underserved populations in the Columbia area. Every dollar raised goes directly towards purchasing equipment, including an Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine, that will help diagnose and treat eye conditions for patients in need.
Registration Details:
Please register online by March 13th to reserve an official race t-shirt for the event. After this date, registration will still be available at a reduced price, but it will not include a t-shirt.
T-Shirt Pickup:
Friday, April 4th, from 8:00 am - 4:00 pm at the PCCLC.
Or on the day of the race, April 5th, from 8:00 am - 8:45 am.

If you are unable to participate in the Run/Walk but would like to contribute, please click the "Donate" tab at the top of the website to make your contribution to Mizzou Ophthalmology’s MedZou fund.
Course Information:
The course will follow the scenic MKT Trail to a turnaround point (1.55-mile mark) before returning along the same path to the finish line. A hydration station will be available at the turnaround point.
