Giddy-Up Cowfolk! It's time to "kick-off" your boots and put on your running shoes! The Junior League of St. Joseph invites you to run, walk or gallop virtually with the 8th annual historic Pony Express Run 5k and Half Marathon. Help us celebrate our centennial year of volunteerism in St. Joseph while safely walking, running, biking, etc. each step of the way.
This event is entirely virtual and offers many opportunities to be the boots on the ground benefiting our community. Kids, friends, and family are all encouraged to help us all move toward our goals.
In 2012, we have established a partnership with the United Way of Greater St. Joseph, who is a major charitable partner of the race. Because of this partnership, the Junior League is able to further its mission of positively impacting the lives of women and children in our community. All proceeds raised by the Pony Express Run benefit the Junior League of St. Joseph and are used to support our community through programs like Cinderella's Closet and Hope Totes and the ongoing effort to engage volunteers and develop empathy through partnership.
In 2012, the Junior League of St. Joseph worked to bring the St. Joseph community the Pony Express 5K and 10K Run. In 2014, we expanded the race by changing the 10K to a half marathon, which brought a mix of people from both inside and outside of our community. Since then, we have had roughly 250 runners participate in the Pony Express Run each year.

All Virtual Pony Express Run participants will receive a T-shirt, race medal, and courtesy racing packet from our sponsors available for pick-up the week before the race and at the after party on Oct. 10th. Kindly see the FaceBook page and race website for more information.
Packets will be available at the Junior League of St. Joseph's building at 3007 North Belt Highway, Suite E St. Joseph, MO 64506.
Face masks and courteous social distancing are encouraged.

Wednesday, Sep. 23 from 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Thursday, Sep. 24 from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Friday, Sep. 25 from 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Packets will also be available at the after party on Saturday, Oct. 10th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm.
While the Pony Express Run 2020 is a virtual challenge this year we are posting a suggested route from our 2019 race. This is NOT a mandatory route to participate, only a suggestion for interested participants.
We encourage all participants to run and walk a route that challenges and suits their environment and time needs. Map your route using your own preferred tools and make this an experience you can immerse in for yourself. Plan your race day experience all at once or over multiple days; meet up with friends and bring the whole family or get in the zone on your own.
We're socially distant this year, but make your race route a meaningful experience and proudly share your finish line cheers with us on social media so we can all celebrate together. #ponyup2020

Kindly be sure to sign up by September 11th in order to get a t-shirt. Sign ups after that date will not be receive a t-shirt by the start of race day on September 26th.
All t-shirt orders with paid registrations after September 11th will be available for pick up at the After Run Party on Saturday, October 10th from 5:00 - 6:00 pm at River Bluff Brewery.
