Introducing Trailnet’s Inaugural Rockin’ the Suburbs Ride!
Kirkwood, MO, was the first planned suburb west of the Mississippi, designed with the railroads in mind to offer city workers a peaceful retreat. Named after civil engineer James Pugh Kirkwood, the town’s grid-patterned streets, tree-lined avenues, and welcoming sidewalks make it an ideal location for cyclists and pedestrians alike. Its vibrant charm and rich history create the perfect backdrop for a memorable cycling experience.
So, get ready to pedal, party, and soak in the unique character of Kirkwood and its neighboring communities! Trailnet is thrilled to host the inaugural Rockin’ the Suburbs Kirkwood Classic on June 7, 2025. Starting from the Alpine Shop, this expertly supported cycling event will guide riders through scenic routes, including a picturesque stretch along the iconic Grant’s Trail. With its mix of history, community spirit, and stunning surroundings, Kirkwood is the perfect place to kick off this exciting new ride!
This ride has a route for everyone, from a 10-mile family-friendly route to a challenging 55-mile dip down into the southernmost parts of the county.
