We are thrilled ONCE again to be able to again offer the Ivory Crockett Run for Webster IN-PERSON! Both the 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run start at the Webster Groves High School, October 15th at 8:30am. The 5k route is here. Register by September 28 to be guaranteed a T-Shirt.
We are also offering a series of virtual 5k runs, with one starting from every Webster Groves School District school, and a special Ivory Crockett Challenge 5k, starting from Ivory Crockett Park in historic North Webster. All of our activities are listed below, with dates, times, locations, and other details. Registration for all activities begins on September 1st.
In 1974, Ivory Crockett ran the fastest 100-yard dash with manual timing of 9.0 seconds, a record that stands today. Please join the celebration of Ivory Crockett's achievements with this community-wide event. The proceeds benefit the WGSD students and staff through Foundation Grants and Ivory Crockett Scholarships.
Practice social distancing by choosing your 5k location! You have from September 1 (first day to register) until October 15, 2022 to participate. We have 5k routes near every Webster Groves School (including every elementary school, WG High School, Steger 6th Grade Center, and Hixson Middle School). Register by September 28 to be guaranteed a T-Shirt.
Ivory Crockett 5k Challenge
This premier activity is a 5k run in historic North Webster, starting and ending at Ivory Crockett Park. This is the 'Crown Jewel' of our 5k virtual runs, as it is more challenging than the others (more hills!). We are thrilled to offer you a chance to run, walk, or stroll through historic North Webster on a route starting and ending at Ivory Crockett park! This mostly clockwise loop will take you through much of this neighborhood, with sections on Bell, Reasnor, and Almentor before a short section on Rock Hill Road. Re-enter the neighborhood and run the length of Euclid before the challenging Holland hills, down to the low point on Ravine and Lorraine Davis, before starting the mostly uphill last mile up Waymire, south on Cornell, back up Ravine, to the aptly-named Plateau. A short stint on Lithia, Ennis, and Thornton return you to Bell, to the downhill finish.
