Description

The Southaven Police Wives Auxiliary, a subsidiary of the Southaven Police Chaplain's Fund, will be hosting the First Annual Walk For A Cop and 5K Run on Saturday, October 22, 2016. This years event will be held in the Snowden Grove Baseball Complex at the main pavilion, located on Sunset Loop. Onsite registration will begin at 6:30 a.m. on race day and the race will start at 8:00 a.m. If you register the day of the race, you must pay in CASH. If you have pre-registered you can pick up your packet the night before the race between 4:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at the event location. All proceeds from the walk/run will go directly to the Southaven Police Chaplain's Benevolence Fund. The results of the 5K race will be professionally scored by Best Times utilizing ChronoTrack chip timing. We will have 8 seperate age divisions, male and female, with awards for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in each division. There will be an overall award given to the male and female with the fastest times. You must pre-register online by October 18, 2016 to be guaranteed a t-shirt and goody bag. We will have a limited amount of t-shirts for those that register after the October 18, 2016 deadline, but we cannot guarantee availability to every registrant. ONLINE REGISTRATION ENDS OCTOBER 20, 2016 at 10:00 P.M. Price increases October 20, 2016 at 10:01 p.m. to $30.00 (cash only) and you will only be able to register at the packet pickup on Friday night or on the morning of the event. The days events will also feature a special Kids Fun Run. Everyone is welcome to stay after the race and meet many of Southaven Police Department's finest men and women in blue. There will be concessions, fun activities, music, and demonstrations by the Southaven Police SWAT, K-9, Public Relations, and Motor Units.

Kids Fun Run

The Kids Fun Run portion of the First Annual Walk For A Cop And 5K Run will be for children 10 years and under. Every child participating will receive a participation ribbon. Parents are welcome to assist their child. There is no cost for the Kids Fun Run. If your child is going to participate in the Kids Fun Run they need to be registered online, regardless if they were involved in the Southaven schools fundraiser or not. The fundraiser was for their kid's t-shirts only. Participation did not include their registration for the Kids Fun Run. There will be a limited number of kid's t-shirts available for purchase at the event on a first come and first serve basis. The sizes and quantities will be limited. The cost of the kids t-shirts will be $15.00. Registration and t-shirts on the day of the event will be on a CASH only basis. If you are registering a child 10 and under the day of, you will need to arrive by 8:00 a.m. to register them.
