The 406 Duathlon & Triathlon races just got elevated!
The 406 Race Series is thrilled to partner with Big Sky Games by adding a triathlon event in conjunction with the 406 Adventure Race.
NEW for 2023... Run, Paddle, Run event. If you're not a super swimmer or a cyclist this event is for you! The RPR event offers a kayak or paddleboard division.

All transitions will be held within Lake Elmo State Park Parking/Boat Ramp area.
Transition area open to Racers: 6:00am - closes 7:00 am
TEAMS: Teams can consist of 2 or 3 members.
1st person (captain) signs up and pays for the team. The other 1 or 2 team members must sign up AFTER the captain, using the team password created by the captain. The 2nd and 3rd member will NOT be charged.
Packet Pick Up:
When: Saturday, June 24
Where: Scheels, Billings, MT (follow the signs upstairs in the conference room)
Time: 10:00a - 12:30p - Please... pick up on this day!
Race Day Pick-up- location: 6:00a-7:00a - no race day event changes.
Sprint 400M Swim Course - 200M Out and Back
Long 800M Swim Course - 400M Out and Back Long Course Buoys
Long 800M Paddle Course - 400M Out and Back Long Course Buoys
5K Sprint Course Run Leg is 1 Loop of the 5K Course | Triathlon | Duathlon | Run/Paddle/Run
10K Long Course Run Leg is 2 Loops of the 5K Course | Triathlon | Duathlon
5K Only Course is 1 Loop of the 5K Course
The 3.1 mile run is on dirt trails and paved roads. Participants will run on out and back on the west shoulder of Lake Elmo Dr. down to Stillwater Lane, and around Lake Elmo Park before finishing near the transition area.
Bikers exit the transition area and take a left proceeding past the Park entrance booth
Duathlon and Run/Paddle/Run participants will start their first run leg 1.2 at the top parking lot by the restroom. The course is all on dirt path and will follow the path around Lake Elmo. Transition to the bike is on pavement. After the bike course is completed transition to final 5K Run (Sprint Course) or 10K Run (Long Course 5Kx2)
Run/Paddle/Run. Transition to Water. After paddle course is completed transition to final 5K Run (Sprint Course).
