Description
Run for the Pils 5k
Join Southern Strain Run Club as we kick off Southern Strain Breweries' anniversary weekend with our annual 5k! Our out-and-back course starts at the brewery and then heads to McEachern Greenway, a portion of the 4-mile greenway loop in Concord. This course is paved and be forewarned - HILLY! There is an aid station midway with water and Gatorade you will pass twice. Once you’ve crossed the finish line, enjoy our refreshing race day beer, Run for the Pils!
A portion of the race proceeds will benefit Run Cabarrus, a competitive youth cross-country club dedicated to developing distance runners.

Want to join in the fun without taking on our challenging course? Come enjoy our race day beer, support your friends and Run Cabarrus! $10 gets you a beer ticket and all proceeds benefit Run Cabarrus!
Not-So-Fun Run
The not-so-fun run is a dash from the base of the Wilson Street hill back to the brewery. Meet us at the starting line at 9:45 am and make any donation to Run Cabarrus to enter! We will walk as a group to the bottom of the hill and race back to the top. The first men's and women's finishers will get a unique prize!
Packet Pickup
Packet pickup will be available at Southern Strain Brewing Company on Friday, September 8th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm and also on race day morning starting at 8:00am.
