Description
Join us for our 18th Annual Goldsboro YMCA Turkey Trot. Come start your Thanksgiving Day off right by supporting this benefit run/walk. Proceeds from this event will provide support to our community outreach programs here at the Goldsboro Family YMCA.
For this year's Turkey Trot, we will be offering both an in person option for the 5k and fun run, as well as, a virtual option for the 10k/5k/fun run. The virtual option allows participants to run wherever they may be from 11/23 -11/27 and submit results online to Run the East.
The 5K event will start around 7:30 am on Thanksgiving Day, November 23rd and the 1-mile Fun Run/Walk will start around 8:15am. What a great way to spend Thanksgiving morning with family and friends! Once you cross the finish line, we welcome you to cheer on the other participants. This year, awards will be announced via social media and mailed to the overall top three male and female for the 5k at a later date.
**Please note that T-shirts are only guaranteed to those who register before November 5th and sizes are based on availability from our vendor.
**T-shirts for virtual participants will be shipped via Run the East when you select the additional shipping fee.

Virtual Race FAQs
What is a virtual run?
A virtual race is an event where you sign up and participate on a course of your choosing (or a treadmill). This is a great opportunity to work towards your running goals, stay healthy, and support a great cause!
The event will feature a leaderboard so you can still see how you stack up against your fellow competitors!
Where do I run?
You can run at a course of your choosing, including on a treadmill.
When do I run?
You can run (or walk) anytime on November 23-27, 2023.
Will this race be timed?
The virtual run will not be officially timed, but by using the RaceJoy app, you can receive a GPS-based time which will automatically submit your time for you. There will be an online leaderboard showing everyone's times.
How do I post my results?
The easiest way is to use RaceJoy during the race! If you choose not to use RaceJoy, then you can visit the results page and click the "Submit Virtual Results" link at the top of the page.
