Description

Waggin' Wild 5k is a Rescue Run-Walk for people of all ages!

**New for 2020** Fun Run 1-miler!


Pets are Welcome and Family Participation is Encouraged!

The fun-filled fundraiser will take place at Bur-Mill park in Greensboro on March 7.  Race day registration is available starting at 9:00 AM!  The 5K will start at 10:30 AM. The Fun Run will start at 10:35 AM. We encourage everyone to bring their dogs for this run-walk to benefit rescue pets. After the race stick around for awards, prizes, food, beverage, and much more!! Come out and show your support by helping raise funds to care for pets in our community and help control the over population of animals!  

Event Times:

  • 9:00 AM - On-site Registration Opens
  • 9:30 AM - Our "photo booth" will be setup for you to drop in and get your individual, group or pet shot.
  • 9:30 AM - Raffle Open: You will receive 2 free raffle tickets with your registration! Additional tickets available for purchase.
  • 9:50 AM - LPIA Alumni Group photo!! We would love to get a group photo featuring our previous adopted pups and their awesome parents.
  • 10:30 AM - The 5K Individual Run Without Dogs, Runners with Dogs then Walkers. Please look for signs
  • 10:35 AM - The Fun Run (one mile)
    The start is at at the Wildlife Center in Bur-mil Park. **New Race Course** see below
    We encourage everyone to bring their dogs for this run-walk to benefit spay/neuter/medical assistance and rescue pets.
    Please NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES for safety of runners.
  • 11:45 AM - Recovery food, Runner/Walker/Pet Awards, Prizes and Raffle announcements.

Race Goodies:
All competitors who register early will receive the Waggin' Wild T-Shirt and Race Bag. (late registration and day of only while supplies last)

There will be trophies/prizes awarded to the top finishers for both Men and Women Overall/Masters and in age groups - 1st place. Awards will be given to the Top 3 Dogs crossing the finish line in the 5K.

RACE DAY
9:00am - 10:30am - Registration Open
The 5K race is chip timed by Junction 311 Endurance Sports.

5K:
The 5K will start at 10:30 AM.
Race will begin at Wildlife Center. Participants will go down the hill and LEFT on the trail. Map HERE.  
Participants will receive a T-Shirt and Race Bag.  Awards will be given to the Top 3 Dogs crossing the finish line in the 5K.

Fun Run:
The Fun Run will start at 10:35 AM over a course of one mile.
Race will begin at Wildlife Center. Participants will go down the hill and RIGHT on the trail. Map HERE.  
Participants will receive a T-Shirt and Race Bag.

Registration Fees:
$25 - 5K
$30 - 5K after January 12, 2020
$35 - 5K after February 28, 2020
$20 - Fun Run 1-miler
$23 - Fun Run after January 12, 2020
$25 - Fun Run after February 28, 2020
*Registration Fees are Non-Refundable

Participation Rules:
For your dog’s safety, and to make this event enjoyable for all, participants must abide by the rules listed below. We encourage the participation of dogs that are well adjusted to crowds and noisy environments with large numbers of people and other dogs.

  • Dog(s) must be current on all shots and rabies vaccination.
  • Dog(s) must wear an ID Tag.
  • No dog(s) in heat and no aggressive dogs.
  • Dog must be leashed (6ft. max length) & in control. NO RETRACTABLE LEASHES PLEASE.
  • You must pick up after your dog. Disposable bags will be provided if needed.
