Description

Run this beautiful 5K course through the historic fishing village before your big Thanksgiving feast!   The proceeds from this race support the Hatteras Island Youth Education Fund (HIYEF). HIYEF provides funding for educational and enrichment opportunities for our Hatteras Island students.

Water is provided on the course. This is not a timed race; it is a family fun event, if you want to know your time please wear a watch or make sure you look at the clock at the finish line. Non-refundable charity event. Race is rain or shine but will be canceled for safety reasons in the event of severe weather. Slower runners and walkers should start at the back of the corral.

Surfin' Turkey 5k Pricing:
Before 11/1/2021
Individual: $35.00 (+$3.00 sign up fee) Price includes swag bag, T-shirt, and post-race celebration with pancakes and Carolina Brewery beer (for racers 21 and older.)

On and after 11/1/2021*
Individual: $40.00 (+$3.00 sign up fee)

*If you register on or after 11/1/2021, we CANNOT guarantee you will receive a shirt or your preferred shirt size. 
Online registration closes on 11/19/2021 at 11:59 pm.

On-site Registration: $45

Puppy Drum 1/2 Mile Fun Run Pricing:
Children 10 and under: Free for run or walk, and post-race breakfast, NO T-SHIRT.

Individual: $20.00 (+$2.50 sign up fee) for non-competitive run or walk, t-shirt, and post-race pancake breakfast.

On-Site Registration:$25

Extra T-shirts may be purchased for $20.00 depending upon availability.

Packet-Pick-Up and On-site Registration

On-site registration will be available during Packet Pickup at the Hatteras Village Civic Center on Wednesday, November 24, 2021 from 4pm to 6pm and on the morning of the race between 7am and 7:30am. Packets may be picked up either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning before the race. If you do not register online, we will not be able to guarantee a shirt as part of your race packet. Race bags will include coupons and swag from local businesses.

Parking

There will be limited race day parking on site. Additional on-street parking available nearby.

Refund, Transfer and Weather Policy

Non-refundable charity event. Race is rain or shine but will be canceled for safety reasons in the event of severe weather.

Recognition:

The top three males, females and children under 16 will receive special recognition. This is a family fun event. If you want to know your time, wear a watch or make sure you look at the clock at the finish line.
