South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Association - President's Message
A Message from our President...
The South Rowan Public Schools Bible Teaching Associating provides classes in bible History at South Rowan High School, Jesse C. Carson High School, Corriher-Lipe Middle School and China Grove Middle School, The Association raises funds from local supporting churches, businesses, and individuals in order to reimburse Rowan-Salisbury Schools for the salary and fringe benefits and paid by them to our Bible teachers, Bertha Flores and Emily Griggs.
For 44 years, the mission of the South Rowan Bible Teaching Association has been to teach Bible History to the student of the South Rowan area. We have been very fortunate to have had the program so long and through the years it has touched the lives of many students. We have helped produce pastors, Sunday School teachers, church leaders, and laypeople in our community, but without your support this would not be possible.
Our three main fundraising events are the 5k race, Golf Tournament and the BBQ chicken dinner.
Our vision is to also financially support the hiring of another fulltime Bible teacher at Southeast Middle School in the fall of 2024. We encourage you to help us meet our expanded financial goals for our Bible teaching ministry in the local public schools by donating to this important ministry.
It’s been said that Bible has been taken out of the schools, but this is your opportunity to provide Bible studies in the schools both ow and in the years to come. We want to say THANK YOU for all you’ve done and ask that you continue to support this program. Please keep the Association, our Bible teachers, and our Board in your prayers as we continue this great work of God!
-Bennett Hester,
Association President
A Message from our Teachers
A Message from our Teachers…
It is an honor and a privilege to teach Bible History in the public schools in southern Rowan County. We have been given the greatest opportunity to teach the most influential book ever and we do not take this honor and responsibility lightly.
Each year, as our students sit in our Old and New Testament History classes, they are given the incredible opportunity to study and learn about this book which has challenged, shaped and changed millions of lives. We delve deep into the bible, uncovering the origins, and captivating our students with the rich tapestry of stories, characters poetry and wisdom that fill the pages of this ancient text.
THANK YOU for making this possible through your donations and support! We appreciate each of you and your devotion to prayerfully supporting and joining this ministry to the young people in our community. Sadly, biblical literacy is at an all-time low and each year we meet students who have no knowledge of this
book and little experience of its profound influence. Many of our students have never heard of Abraham, Moses or Jesus and their powerful stories which transformed our Western civilization.
It is your support which makes it possible for them to hear. These classes are non-denominational, academic studies of the Bible, seeking to increase knowledge
and understanding of the stories that resonate throughout our history, literature, art and world. Thank you again for partnering with us and for your continued contribution to this unique, important opportunity. Also, please encourage the young people you influence to take these classes. We believe studying the Bible can impact their world!
