15th Anniversary Miles Cupcake 5k and Fun Run

This spring we will bring back a fantastic event created by former GO FAR coach Shane Miles. "Miles Cupcake 5k and Fun Run" Shane served faithfully as one of the start-up GO FAR Coaches when the program had just begun in the Outer Banks and continued to volunteer over the years.  OBX Go Far was proud to name its Miles College Education Fund in honor of Shane Miles.  We sadly lost Shane to cancer a couple of years ago and we are honored to bring back this awesome event in his name. The proceeds from this event will go to OBX GO FAR is a non-profit children’s program to help provide scholarships for children who cannot meet registration fees as well as help us cover the essential costs of our program. This year's event is the big 15th anniversary, we have so much in store to make it big and exciting to celebrate 15 years of Go Far!

Your support will benefit the youth of Dare County from Hatteras Island to Duck!  If you cannot join us in person, we have a Virtual 5K option for those who would like to support Shane’s mission & OBX GO FAR from a far! Join local Dare County GO FAR youth in our Miles Cupcake 5K and 1 Mile Fun Run presented by OBX Go Far on Saturday, May 3rd beginning at 8 AM!  We have a festive start, and finish will be in downtown Manteo at The Pioneer Theatre, with a custom finisher's medals for every finisher and of course cupcakes! Packet Pick-up will take place the morning of the race beginning at 7:10-7:50 AM outside by the start area. 8 AM 5k Start and 8:05 AM Fun Run start. Runners must register by April 16th to guarantee a cupcake tee shirt!

Parking will be at the public parking lot located at 205 Budleigh Street in downtown Manteo, NC 27954

Race Course/Map TBD for our 5k and 1 mile start ! Keep on the lookout for our location and route! Course will be an out and back.
