Pumpkin Prance Fun Run/Walk 5k

On November 19, 2016 at 8:30 am the First Annual Pumpkin Prance will be held in Newland, NC, starting at Avery High School. Registration will begin at 8:00 am.  This course will have slight inclines and be mostly flat. The course will travel from the high school track and up and down High School Road.

The Avery High Chapter of the Junior State of America (JSA) and Students Environmentally Aware (SEA Club) are organizing the event and hope to use the proceeds to promote literacy in our elementary and middle schools, provide leadersip training for high school students, and to fund sustainability measures at the high school. 

The cost for the 5k is $20 for adults and $15 for kids 12 and under. (Online sign up fee is $2.50 per person additional)   All participants registered by November 7 will be guaranteed a t-shirt.  There will be extra shirts to those who register after this date, on a first come first serve basis.

This is a non-sanctioned event.  However, there will be prizes awarded to the top three adult winners in gender class and awards given to all kids who complete the event.
