Run 5 Feed 5 is a 501c3 organization that hosts events throughout the year including a 5K walk in the Spring to fund programs that feed hungry children. Our mission started in 2014 with the hope of raising money and awareness for the dire childhood hunger problem in our communities. In the first five years of fundraising, over $200,000 has been raised to fight childhood hunger and we continue to expand our fundraising efforts! Right now in North Carolina, one out of every four children is going hungry, and our goal is to fight that statistic!
100% of the proceeds from our fundraising go to organizations that provide for food insecure children. One of the programs we provide funding for is the Backpack Pals. Community Outreach of Archdale-Trinity (COAT) is a local food bank that provides backpack pals to over 500 children every weekend. Each Friday, the backpack program sends bags of food home with food insecure children, through local Elementary, Middle and High Schools. These feeding programs are funded primarily through donations. In an effort to raise money for these programs and others that provide food for hungry children, we are currently in the planning stages of our Sixth Annual RUN 5 FEED 5, which will take place at Trinity High School on March 30, 2019.
