Description

Run 5 Feed 5 is a 501c3 organization that hosts events throughout the year including a 5K walk/run in the Spring to fund programs that feed hungry children. Our mission started in 2013 with the hope of raising money and awareness for the dire childhood hunger problem in our communities. Right now in North Carolina, one out of every four children is going hungry, and our goal is to fight that statistic!

Our efforts have expanded greatly over the past several years. We continue to fund the Backpack Pals program through COAT, who sends food home every Friday for local food insecure children. For the past 8 years, we have provided food delivery during the summer and extended breaks to over 500 children locally that would otherwise go hungry. We provide grants to schools in an effort to assist hungry children including assistance with lunch accounts. In 2021, we opened a food bank that is open to all schools to visit and get snacks for hungry children in their schools. In 2022, we started the Pack the Pantry Program and now deliver a $250 box of snack foods to 45 local schools monthly.

100% of the proceeds from our fundraising go to efforts that provide for food insecure children in our local Preschools, Elementary, Middle, and High Schools. To raise money for these programs and provide food for hungry children, we are currently in the planning stages of our 10th Annual RUN 5 FEED 5, which will take place at Creekside Park on April 13, 2024.

How can you and others within your organization participate? Whether it be volunteering or walking/running in the event, there is a place for everyone! The 5K entry fee will be $30 per person and includes a custom t-shirt alongside the invaluable opportunity to connect with the community.

Your company can also help us by providing funds in the form of an event sponsorship or grant. You may also contribute by donating goods for our race or participant/runner “goody” bags or provide a specific service for our event. Sponsorship levels that are available are listed on the following page. Please note that sponsorships must be secured by April 7, 2023 to ensure placement on the 2023 t-shirts and other event promotional signage.

Detailed information regarding the event and registration can be found on our Run 5 Feed 5 Facebook page or our website www.run5feed5.org.

We hope you will mark your calendars to join us for a day of fun and a "run to fight childhood hunger"!

Best Regards,
