Chord Energy Williston Marathon

Description

The Chord Energy Williston Marathon is a premier endurance event in Williston, North Dakota. This course is held at the Williston Basin International Airport. Runners will get the unique experience of running on the runway of the airport!

The Chord Energy Williston Marathon is a non-profit event and all proceeds go directly to Upper Missouri Relay For Life in Williston, ND. Our race day events are a Boston Qualifying Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K. Healthy living can help prevent cancer and the marathon is a great way to keep our community active and support and healthy lifestyle.

The Upper Missouri Relay For Life is a fundraising event put on through American Cancer Society and funds raised are used towards patient care, travel expenses cancer patients may need and towards other things that are given to patients at our local cancer treatment center here in Williston, North Dakota.

All runners registered for the marathon, half marathon,10K, or 5K by May 17th will receive a 2025 finisher metal and shirt!

Races:

All events will start and finish at the Overland Aviation building on the Williston Basin International Airport campus. There is ample parking at the event plus areas for family and friends to cheer on our runners! Please do not block any driveways, intersections or entrances to the oil pumper sites.

Marathon - Shotgun kick off at 6:30am

Half Marathon - Shotgun kick off at 7:00am

10K - Shotgun kick off at 8:00am

5K - Shotgun kick off at 8:15am

Due to the nature of the roads outside of the airport gates, we do not allow strollers for the 10K, Half Marathon, and Marathon races. No animals unless they are a service animal. Williston Marathon event closes at 2pm. Please be aware when registering for your event of choice.

Routes:
The routes will be thoroughly marked by signage and volunteer direction. Route maps will also be available online, at packet pick-up and at the event table on race day!

Water Stations:
There 6 water stations along the marathon/half marathon route. Along with basic first aid, electrolytes, and light refuel options

Restrooms:
Restrooms will be available at the start line and on the route at the cell phone lot at mile 11.

Timing:

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE INTERSECTION (a message from Randa)

This is the most confusing part of the WHOLE route. We are trying to avoid having to close the road and of course watch for your safety. You will be running AGAINST traffic. When you come south on your 8th/21st mile, you will take a left at the intersection (141st Ave NW). This is the main road you would take to the airport. Take that road to east and it will curve down. There will be a sign at the 58th St NW turn to head WEST/RIGHT past all those pumping units! That road will continue and curve back to NORTH. You will hit that intersection again but this time take another LEFT at Jensen Lane. This will take you to the airport terminal, going AGAINST traffic. Once you get back to the intersection take another LEFT turn and head NORTH and you are off to the finish line/or second lap!
