Adult Long Distance Race – Sunday, September 12, 2021 – 8:20am, 1.5 K swim (two laps) – 26.5 mi. bike – 10K run Adult and Junior Sprint Race – Sunday, September 12 – approximately 8:00am - .75K swim – 15 mile bike – 5 K run
Attention: We will be implementing USA Triathlon Safe Return to Multisport Initiative recommendations, including social distancing, COVID-19 prevention guidelines from the CDC, and local health department requirements which may change up to the date of the event.
Check-in - 6:00-7:30am (At picnic shelter next to transition area) Mandatory Pre-race meeting for both races - 7:45 a.m.
Sprint race begins at 8:00 am Transition area will be closed at 7:45 am Long Distance Race will start at approximately 8:20am
Directions to Branched Oak Lake; 15 miles northwest of Lincoln and three miles north of Malcolm. The entrance is on NW 140th Street, and enters Leibers Point on West Branched Oak Road. Park Permits will be Prepaid for all competitors and volunteers
Long Distance Triathlon early bird entry fee is $95 per person and $160 per team. Sprint Race early bird entry fee is $75 and $130 per team by July 31, August 1 – September 1 Olympic Triathlon entry fee is $120 per person and $185 per team. Sprint Race entry fee is $95 and $155 per team, September 1 – Monday September 7 add $30. Team members MUST individually pay for the one day USA triathlon insurance fee of $15 if you are not a member. You are not guaranteed a race shirt if registered after August 31. There is a no refund policy for all entries.
Registration Limits will be 250 total for the both races combined.
Please list your USAT membership # on the online registration form. You must also read the USAT waiver and initial agreement on the online registration page.
We will be giving a finisher medal to all participants along with the following awards:
Age groups awards will be given to the Top Two in each of the following individual age groups: 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34……… to 85 & over in five year increments for both male and female of both races.
Team Competition – Awards will be given to the First place team in each division: Olympic Race - 89 & under, 90 & over in Mixed, Female, and Male categories. Sprint Race – 89 & under, 90 & over in Mixed, Female, and Male categories.
A $100 gift certificate to the Lincoln Running Company will be awarded to the top male and female athlete in the Olympic triathlon. A $50 gift certificate to Cycle Works for top male and female in the Sprint race.
FINAL ENTRY DEADLINE:
Registrations must be received online only by Monday, September 7th by 6:00pm. No T-shirt is guaranteed for Late entries after August 31, Late Fees will apply! There is a no refund policy for all entries.
Chip timing will be used in all races. Long Distance Race swim leg is a triangle clockwise .75 kilometer swim (two laps) starting from the main south beach on Leibers Point and will be lined with support craft. Swim warm-up will only be allowed before the pre-race meeting, no warm-ups allowed before the start of each wave. The cycling leg is a 40 kilometer hilly bike around Branched Oak Recreation area (2 laps), and the final leg is a 10 kilometer out and back run along the paved road to Leibers Point and an out & back leg on 1 mile of gravel road. Course maps are available on the home page. There is a Long course race cut-off time of 12:30pm, You must be off the course at this time! PLEASE register for the Sprint race if you cannot complete course under these limits. The Sprint Race will start with a .75 meter clockwise swim from the beach. Bike course will be 15 miles out around Branched Oak Recreation area (1 lap), and the final leg is a 5 kilometer out and back run along the paved road to Leibers Point.
Team competition consists of three members, each participating in one segment of the triathlon. Mixed teams must consist of at least one female. Teams are determined by combining the ages of all three team members. If any leg in the team competition does not finish, either or both remaining team members may complete the remaining portion BUT WILL NOT BE ELIGIBLE FOR AWARDS. A wave start will be implemented by age groups depending on the numbers, approx. 75-90 per wave) Order of waves will be posted on website the week before the event date.
Swim course may be altered due to water and/or weather conditions in a manner that will not conflict with other ongoing lake activities. If conditions cause a cancellation of the format will be a 5K – 26.5mi. – 5K, and a 2 mile – 15 mile – 2 mile Duathlon.
If entering a team division, the TEAM ROSTER/WAIVER form must be fully completed and signed by each team member (or by parent/guardian, if a minor).
USA Triathlon rules will apply. This is a sanctioned USAT race. Check out the most commonly violated rules on the Links listed on the website. Drafting penalties will be enforced. All cyclists must wear an ANSI/SNELL/CPSC/USDOT approved hard-shell bike helmet. USAT Wet suits rules will apply. Center line rule will be strictly enforced.
PARKING, CAMPING & PARK PERMIT INFORMATION:
Athletes will Park around parking lots in Area 5, parking attendants will be directing you to the proper areas. Prepare to walk your bikes and equipment to the Transition Area approximately ¼ of a mile. Equipment can be dropped off at the entrance to Leibers Point Transition area no later than 7:15am.
