A little bit about us:
Mill Falls Public Montessori Charter School was established in 2012 as NH’s first public Montessori school. We provide a K-6 grade education to 168 students each year. The school brings together children of all backgrounds and learning styles in mixed-age classrooms, which follow the individualized and academically integrated Montessori approach. Students’ emotional and social growth is cultivated alongside their academic achievement in an inclusive and diverse public school setting. Like all public schools, we are tuition-free.
Our diverse student body includes children from 14 towns including Manchester. There are typically at least 10 languages in addition to English spoken by members of our student body. Our students have a wide variety of life experiences and learning styles. Close to 20% of our students live at or below the poverty line. All that to say, our school community reflects accurately the residential makeup of Manchester and its surrounding towns.
While our public school receives funding from the State of NH, the funding level is significantly less than funds afforded to the state’s traditional public schools. We hold events like this to help us cover the budget deficit we face annually given the low level of state funding.
