Description
The New England Womxn's Trail Multisport Festival is a chance to come together and enjoy a day and celebrate the end of the multisport season in beautiful Pawtuckaway State Park. The event is presented by SHEcoast Multisport, and it is open to any person who identifies as a woman including cis, trans, non-binary, or any significantly female-identifying persons.
This year's Festival will be held on Saturday, 9/27/25, with an inclement weather date of Sunday, 9/28/25. Course Previews and mini clinics will be held for all courses. You'll have the option of adding 1, 2 or all 3 previews/clinics during registration.
Bike & Run Previews & Mini Clinics: Saturday, August 23rd
Swim Preview & Open Water Mini Clinic: Saturday, September 13th
Participate in the individual triathlon, or choose a two sport (swim/bike, bike/run or swim/run) or single sport (swim only, bike only or run only) option. Stay afterward to enjoy a celebration with snacks and post race manual therapy with Major Sponsor Roots Integrative Therapies. All participants will be entered in a raffle to win great prizes from our sponsors!
Thank you to Major Sponsors Core Orthopedics and Sports Med and Roots Integrative Therapies for partnering on this event, and our Festival Sponsors Sweat Threadz, Gus' Bike Shop, BlueSeventy, Ani's Bagels & Aroma Joe's.
Please note that this is not a race and there will not be chip timing or race numbers, nor will there be awards based on placement/finish times. This festival is an opportunity to enjoy a fun multisport event in a beautiful park area surrounded by supportive friends - new and old. If you would like to record your time, please bring your own watches/computers.
Transition area will be in the parking lot near the beach at or near your car. While we will have volunteers in the area, each participant is responsible for their own items and the event management is not responsible for the loss of any items. Please plan for a way to secure your valuables, including your bike, while you are out on the course.

Courses: All courses are open to the public, please respect others that you see out on the course.
Swim Course: A personal swim buoy like this one is REQUIRED for this event. Please purchase one before the event to ensure you are able to participate in the swim leg. If you do not have a swim buoy at the start, you will be asked to change to another event with no swim.
The swim course is an out and back in Pawtuckaway lake, supported by lifeguards and volunteers on paddleboards.
Bike Course: Helmets are required for the bike course. Bright clothing and front and rear lights are strongly encouraged for visibility on park roads and trails. There will be one aid station in the transition area and one on the run/bike course, so please plan to bring your hydration and nutrition with you if you’d like additional out on the course.
The entirety of the bike course is within the park on a mix of park road, trail and gravel road. The trail is a rolling trail with a couple of steep/punchy climbs and fast descents and has technical areas with rocks and roots and several bridge crossings, as well as one place you will stop your bike and lift it over a log. A gravel, mountain, cyclocross, fat bike or bike with knobby tires that can handle trails is required to participate. This course is not as technical as a typical single track/mountain bike trail, but significantly more technical than a gravel/dirt road.
Run Course: The 5k run is an out and back on park roads, double track trail and 1.2 miles on single track trail. The 5k run is a great option for those newer to trail running, as it gives you a mix of terrain and a section of more technical terrain. The 10k run is for experienced trail runners. It will be a lollipop course, with an out and back on park roads and double track trail to start and finish, and a 3.7 mile loop on technical single track trail in the middle. The trail portion for both runs is technical and has a good amount of elevation, so please use caution and be on the lookout for rocks, roots and others on the trail. There will be one aid station in the transition area and one on the run/bike course, so please plan to bring your hydration and nutrition with you if you’d like additional out on the course, especially for the 10k course. Trail running shoes are strongly suggested for the 5k and required for the 10k.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Do I have to complete the event within a certain time to participate?
We have a 3 hour time limit to complete the event. You may stay in the park afterward, but all support and directional aids on the course will be removed after the 3 hour time limit. Please note that gravel and trail riding and running tend to be quite a bit slower than riding and running on the road. While we have left extra time to account for this, if you are worried about completing the course in that time, you can consider the 2 sport option or the shorter run.
Will the course be available to view before the event?
Yes - GPX files, as well as turn by turn directions will be posted for all bike and run legs. A course preview for the run & bike course is scheduled for Saturday, August 23rd. The swim is a simple out and back. A course preview for the swim will be held on Saturday, September 13th. You can select these add on options during registration.
