Shark Run 5K and Kids Shark Color Fun Run

The 19th Annual Shark Run 5K - October 17, 2026

Sponsored by the Bay Head Home & School Association, this is our largest fundraiser of the year.  The HSA strives to provide for extracurricular activities, enhancements for the classroom, curriculum and school grounds as well as clubs, sports equipment, class trips and after school programs for all grades.

Entry Fee: $35.00 through September 30, 2025, $40.00 October 1, 2025 through Race Day (t-shirt is not guaranteed for late Registrants)

• Entry Fee includes registration for the 5K run through Bay Head, T-shirt (not guaranteed for late registrations) and electronic chip timing

Kids Shark Color Fun Run Entry Fee: $25.00

• Includes a T-shirt (not guaranteed for late Registrants)

Event Schedule & Course

• 7:00am-8 am- Race day registration, runner bag and race # pick-up

• 8:00am/8:10am-Star Spangled Banner (Runners/Walkers will be escorted to the starting line following the Star Spangled Banner)

• 8:30am- Run/Walk START

•  
• 9:00 am- Shark Color Fun Run registration opens

• 9:30am- Shark Run 5K Awards to be announced

• 10:00am- Kids race begins at the Municipal building  

• Runners/Walkers  will be escorted from the Bay Head firehouse, located at 81 Bridge Avenue, at approx. 8:00 am (following The Star Spangled Banner), by the race volunteers, to the starting line located at the corner of East Avenue and Karge Street. 

• Runners will head South on East Avenue, hitting the first mile marker between Strickland and Mathis Streets 

• At the end of East Avenue, make a right on Lyman Street

• Cross Route 35

• Make a right onto Barnegat Lane, hitting the 2nd mile marker just North of Bergen Avenue

• Barnegat Lane turns into Clayton Avenue

• Clayton Avenue ends and turns into  Lake Avenue

• Left onto Bridge Avenue

• Left into the Municipal Parking lot to FINISH LINE

The Shark Run Staff will have either an orange t-shirt on or an orange  vest on.  If you have any questions or need assistance during the race please don’t hesitate to ask a Volunteer.
 
The Point Pleasant First Aid will be located in the Bay Head Fire House parking lot by the Firehouse for the entire event for any medical needs.
