Get the Slack Out 5k & Beer Mile

Looking for something different to do on a Sunday Morning?  How about a 5k and FREE BEER? Come out and join us for the inaugural Get The Slack Out 5k.  This race takes place at Dennisville Recreational Park followed by a post race party at Slack Tide Brewing. The race is on paved trails in the park. The brewery is located less then 4 miles from the park.

*After the 5k we will be having a Beer Mile at the brewery.  

 Beer Mile Rules

• Each competitor drinks four  beers and runs four laps (start with chugging a beer, then run a lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap, then beer, then lap - finish).

• Beer must be consumed before the lap begins within the transition area. The transition area is the 9 meter zone.

• The race begins with competitors lined up on the mile starting line, drinking the first beer in the transition zone described in the step above. This ensures competitors cover a complete mile. Competitors can walk/move in the transition area while drinking, but all beer must be consumed in the transition area before setting off to run a lap.

• Each beer must be finished in the transition zone before the competitor begins the next lap. 

  Competitors who vomit before they finish the race must complete one penalty lap at the end of the race (immediately after the completion of their 4th lap). Vomiting more than once during the race still only requires one penalty lap at the end.
