Fifth Annual Rock Ridge Turkey Trot 5K, Kids Fun Run and Food Drive

Come join the Rock Ridge community in a time honored tradition that winds thru the scenic roads surrounding our lake the Sunday before Thanksgiving.  This will be our 5th year hosting the legendary race, which has brought folks in from all over the globe in years past.  Bring the kids and they can participate in a short race after the 5K and collect some goodies afterwards.  Even if you have plans later this day to start prepping your bird, running a few miles in the morning and helping out a local lake community can only make you feel better about yourself.  Awards will be handed out to the fastest overall adult/child. Who knows there may even be an unscheduled cold plunge...

Where do I run/walk?

• We will be starting at 9AM on 11/24 in front of the RRCC Clubhouse (53 Entrance Way Denville NJ) this is the race course since roads will not be closed for the event, please exercise caution when running/walking
• Kids Fun run/leisure walk will follow the race at approximately 10AM
• We will be having practice runs leading up to the turkey trot; details will be posted on our Facebook page. In addition, feel free to join our Ridge Runners Strava Group to track your runs and performance against other group members. 

What should I wear?

• Dress for the elements, bonus points if you wear your RRCC swag

What if I have kids who want to participate but they can't run 3 miles?

• Sign them up for the Fun run which will be a short sprint style race down the road in front of the clubhouse after the 5K on 11/24.  All kids who register will be eligible for a prize and will receive a goody bag giveaway.

What if I am an adult who is not interesting in running 3.1 miles but I am looking to walk with my friends and start a new tradition?

• Feel free to sign up for Kid's Fun Run/Leisure walk .  After all this is about spending time with friends and enjoying the beauty that our community has to offer.

Will there be any awards or prizes giveaway?

• Specifics will be posted on the Race Page and emailed to all entrants
• Awards will be provided to top overall male/female runners
• Registration giveaways will be handed out at this event

How can we help others during the Turkey Holiday Season?

• We will also be accepting food donations at the race which will be donated to local food pantries. Information on what items are needed can be found here http://mcifp.org/donate/donate-food/
