SANITY-SAVING SQUATCHY VIRTUAL RACE:

Social distancing... Home-Schooling.... Work-from-Home...... Races being canceled and postponed left and right..... Who else is feeling the stress levels build up higher and higher every day?! Are you also feeling like you want to help people who are being affected by the COVID-19 Virus but don't know what to do?

Sassquad is here to help you with both of those problems! We created the "Sanity Saving Squatchy Virtual Race" to provide a safe opportunity for you to get out and run/walk your own race while simultaneously helping some folks who are in real need of assistance.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Sign up to run/walk a 5K, 10K, Half Marathon, Full Marathon or 50K - you choose the date, time, and location where you will run/walk. You can complete your distance on trail, road, sidewalk, treadmill, around your backyard - heck you can even complete the distance around your living room! You can complete the virtual run/walk when you want, but you need to register before April 15! You'll receive a handcrafted wood medal shortly after you register. You don't need to send us proof of your run - it's the honor system! We will send the proceeds to our charity partner, Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors. This amazing non-profit will use the funds to purchase and deliver food and monetary support to families who are hurting right now, in and around Livingston, NJ (our home base). 

Sometimes Virtual Races have the reputation for being just a "money-grab", so we will be 100% transparent with where your fees are going: $13 of every registration fee is going directly to Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors. $12 will cover the costs for Sassquad to individually handcraft and mail your squatchtastic wood medal (wood medals can only be mailed to participants in the US and will be mailed out on April 15). If you don't care about the swag, you can choose to have 100% of your registration fee be donated to Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors!

ABOUT LIVINGSTON NEIGHBORS HELPING NEIGHBORS: Livingston Neighbors Helping Neighbors, a 501(c)(3) non-profit formed in 2016, is committed to supporting township residents struggling with unexpected hardship by providing short-term financial assistance and a variety of in-kind support. Right now, LNHN is seeing an increase in need due to the COVID-19 Virus and unfortunately it will continue to increase. Donations will go directly to the Emergency Fund and be used to help those impacted by the virus. All requests will be screened by the township social worker who partners with LNHN to confirm need and maximize existing assistance programs.

ABOUT SASSQUAD TRAIL RUNNING: EVERY RUN IS A TRAIL PARTY! Our crazy-fun trail running events in New Jersey celebrate every runner and every mile. All paces and abilities can achieve their running goals at our trail races! We are super passionate about getting more folks out on the trails. We are 100% committed to giving back to our community; every Sassquad Trail Party has a charity-partner! Like every other small business right now, we are quickly adjusting to the ripple effects of the COVID-19 Virus. These Virtual Races will allow us to keep our business afloat while remaining true to our core values: providing a fun and safe opportunity for people to get outside and run/hike AND giving back to our local community!
