Event Description
Welcome to The Corporate Cup—a sample race created purely, solely, entirely, and unmistakably for one purpose: to demonstrate the “Corporate Teams” feature on RunSignup. That’s it. That’s the whole deal. If you’re reading this and thinking, “Hmm, maybe I should train for this,” don’t worry—you don’t have to. Because again, and let’s be very clear here: this is not a real race. 🏢🏃♀️🏃♂️💼
The Corporate Cup is not happening in a park, or downtown, or anywhere in the physical world. It exists here only to show you how the Corporate Teams functionality works in real time. This demo race is your backstage pass to explore features like team creation, employee and non-employee registration, and so on—all without the need for athletic shoes, water stations, or porta-potties.
This sample race is the sandbox where you get to see exactly how your actual race could operate if you enable Corporate Teams. That’s what this demo is for.
The Corporate Cup is not a real event. No shirts. No medals. No awkward warmups to a Spotify playlist called “Cardio Vibes.” This page is a mock event intended to give race directors, organizations, and team captains a preview of how the Corporate Teams system looks, feels, and functions from a user perspective.
So thank you for visiting our fake race, and we hope it gives you very real insight into one of RunSignup’s powerful team-building tools. Now go ahead—click, explore, create a test team, and imagine what your company’s team-based race experience could be.
This is a sample race. This is a demo. This is a test. And it's all about Corporate Teams.

A Runner's Reflection:
Ah… The Corporate Cup, 2004. My first year competing. I was representing Blockbuster Video, back when the break room smelled like popcorn, everyone knew how to properly rewind a VHS, and Friday night meant something. We had matching T-shirts that said “Be Kind, Rewind—and RUN” across the back. It was a different time. A better time.
We trained hard, our squad from Store #8347 in Tulsa. Donna from Returns was our secret weapon—turns out chasing down late fees gave her a mean sprint. Chad, our manager, organized weekly team jogs through the parking lot between late drop-offs. I’ll never forget the way the morning sun hit those blue-and-yellow polos as we lined up at the starting line. We were proud. We were corporate. We were Blockbuster.
We didn’t win The Corporate Cup that year—but that wasn’t the point. The real prize was the camaraderie. The high-fives. The shared joy of victory and shin splints. And of course, the Blockbuster booth at the finish line where we gave out free rentals and copies of Shrek 2 on DVD.
But now? Now there’s no team. No store. No late fees. Just a faded membership card in the back of my wallet and a hollow ache when I scroll through endless streaming options that somehow all feel… empty. Cold. Algorithmic. You ever miss choosing a movie based on its cover art alone? I do. And don’t even get me started on the loss of the Employee Picks shelf. That was cinema culture.
Sometimes, when the wind is just right, I swear I can still hear the soft clunk of a VHS case being dropped into the return bin. I dream of those days. Of rewinding tapes. Of rewinding time.
I run The Corporate Cup now not to win, but to remember. To honor a fallen giant.
Blockbuster may be gone—but in my heart, Store #8347 runs on.
