Out of an abundance of caution and with the health and safety of our community in mind, P.G. Chambers School’s annual Walk.Run.Fun 5K will be a virtual event only this year. As we move forward on this important fund raising event to support our students and families, our thoughts continue to be with everyone impacted by the Coronavirus outbreak.
Our Virtual 5K event will take place from June 5 - June 7, 2020 and you can complete the race any time during this three-day period on the treadmill, in your neighborhood, or any other permitted location (while safely social distancing!). We will email you a bib to print out before the event date. Send us your photos or tag us in your social media posts! Cheer on your fellow virtual participants by liking and commenting. You can send us your results or just let us know you finished. Complete the race your way: walk, run, wheel, move, and remember – Have fun!
Due to circumstances beyond our control, we are unable to provide an event t-shirt this year. We encourage you to wear a t-shirt from one of our prior races if you have one or wear PGCS colors (light and dark teal). Tag our social media accounts and use #PGCSVirtual5K to share your photos!
In these uncertain times, one thing we know for sure is that our P.G. Chambers School community is resilient and strong and together we can make this event successful for the students and families who need our support!
P.G. Chambers School is a private, nonprofit organization serving more than 900 children with disabilities. Our mission is to be a leader in the education and development of children with disabilities increasing the children’s confidence in their individual abilities, preparing them to engage in the community, and expanding their capacity to lead full, productive lives.
In addition to our full-day school program for students with multiple disabilities, P.G. Chambers School operates a comprehensive early intervention program, a community services program that provides direct services, consultations, training, and evaluations for students in local school districts, and an inclusive child care program, Kids Count Child Care, open to children of all abilities.
The proceeds from our Walk.Run.Fun 5K support the exceptional programs at P.G. Chambers School. Your support is needed now more than ever. For more information about P.G. Chambers School, visit our website at www.chambersschool.org
