Description

Friends! When we rescheduled the race from our original date in April to June, we have hoped that the social distancing limitations would get relaxed by then. Well, we were wrong. Unfortunately, we can not yet safely hold a large gathering and host an in-person race. For that reason, 2020 Sasha's Superhero Run has moved to a Virtual format! Here is what this means:

Time: You can run or walk 5K distance any day between June 20th through June 28th, 2020.

Location: Any place: in your neighborhood, through a park, on a treadmill, really... any place of your choice.

Swag:  A virtual race bib and a 2020 commemorative edition of 2020 Sasha's Superhero Run performance T-shirt. The shirt will be mailed to you upon the race completion.

Results: Results may be submitted to us, will be tallied, and posted upon the race completion.

Why: your participation in Sasha's Superhero Run, Virtual Edition, will directly help our fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House in Albany (House).  Although day-to day operations of the House have changed in light of the pandemic, they are still as busy as ever providing support, lodging, and food to the families of critically ill children in local hospitals. Because when the child is seriously ill, there is so much to worry about for their parents; and that is why the Ronald McDonald House provides support especially to those living far from a hospital and enabling all parents to be next to their sick child as much as possible during their hospital stay.

The are sad about not being able to see our friends and participants in person at this year's event. The reason behind organizing Sasha's Superhero Run was to come together in community and honor precious babies and children, who like our son, Sasha, have left this world before their time... Being a loss parent is often a lonely journey and that is why a part of Sasha's Superhero Run's mission is to connect these families. Well, this year, this is not an option. But we are grateful for the support of all of you who are choosing to participate in this virtual race or simply donate to our fundraising. Thank you for helping us honor children gone too soon and supporting the families of those fighting for their lives.
