Description
The Binghamton Pond Festival is back, and that means so is the BPF Trail and Snowshoe Race is being renamed to Pond Fest Winter Trail Runs and Snowshoe Race! What exactly does this mean? We're kicking it up a notch with not just longer races, but more options! Pond fest will be going on during your run, so you can expect a lot of fanfare and spectators as well as food trucks, etc, when you loop past the start/finish.
All races will have the same start/finish line. All the adult races will be a 10k loop - you pick, once, twice or all the way with 5 loops! Races will be self supported while out on the course, so make sure you've got your water bottle or vest ready to go. Stop in to Confluence Running in Johnson City if you're interested in help dialing in your hydration plan.
We will have typical ultra aid station fare near the start/finish for runner aid between loops as well as water and electrolyte drink.
Join us as you run or snowshoe your way through Chenango Valley State Park as part of the Annual Binghamton Pond Festival!
Register today and get ready take on the elements in one of the most fun weekends in the Binghamton area! Stay tuned for race updates as we get closer.
What is the Binghamton Pond Festival?
The Binghamton Pond Festival was created simply to provide a fun family event for our community to enjoy during the winter time, and has spurred a month long series of events in the area.
The Binghamton area has a very strong hockey community and this event celebrates the sport locally and offers just about anyone an excuse to come out during winter to have some fun.
The BPF is one of the few outdoor hockey events that utilize mechanical refrigeration to manage weather concerns related to outdoor hockey. This change has allowed us to provide our players with great ice in temps exceeding 50 degrees and full sun on our 220'x110' ice sheet. To our knowledge, this is the largest refrigerated outdoor ice sheet in North America.
Spectators for our hockey events are always welcome, as are all park guests and anyone else that wants to come and enjoy the weekend with us. So bring a camp chair, your four legged friend on a leash, or some friends and come enjoy the fun!
We donate proceeds from our events to other local nonprofit organizations that provide youth support, education, and sport programs.
