The event will feature two waves, pacers, individualized bottle service, and controlled conditions designed to help you race under the best conditions possible. Hundreds of runners have PR'd at this event -- now it's your turn!

THE COURSE

The Project 13.1 course, renowned as one of the fastest in the country, is a USATF/IAAF-certified route designed for speed. Runners will head out for roughly 3/4 mile, make a 180-degree turn, pass the start line, and then complete four clockwise loops around the lake. To ensure everyone follows the shortest possible path, we'll have someone marking the tangents along the course, giving you the most efficient line for every loop.

TWO WAVES

To provide the best possible race experience and minimize overcrowding on the course, the event will be run in two waves: a faster wave starting at 7:00 AM and a second wave around 8:25 AM, each with approximately 250 runners. Each wave will include 5–10 pacers and bike escorts to support participants. Last year, the cutoff for Wave 1 was around a 1:16 goal time, but this may change based on this year’s entries; we will keep runners informed as signups progress.  Athletes will be able to select which wave they prefer to race in closer to the race.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a time standard to enter this event?

Project 13.1 is built for runners aiming to complete a half marathon in under 90 minutes. We’ll have pacers to support runners going for times under that goal. If you anticipate running over 90 minutes you are still welcome to register, but you might not have a lot of company out on the course and other races may offer a better experience for you this spring.

What makes this race different from other half marathons?

Project 13.1 is designed as more of a time-trial experience, where athletes work together to hit their goals on one of the fastest courses in the country. This low-frills race allows you to arrive on race morning without worrying about big crowds or long lines, focusing entirely on running your fastest possible time. Runners can expect pacers, bottle service, and some unique race giveaways (more details coming soon).

I'm coming from out of town, is there a place nearby I can stay?

We're partnered with the Hampton Inn Nanuet to offer 2026 Project 13.1 participants a discounted rate of $145 + tax for a room the night before the race.

Please note, participants will still be responsible for their transportation to and from the park.
