Most people know movement matters. They just wait for the right time to start, or the perfect plan, or a reason that feels big enough. This event exists to cut through that. It’s a simple day built around effort, showing up, and seeing what happens when you stop overthinking it and try something that’s a little uncomfortable. You don’t need to be ready... You just need to start.
Event Description
ENDURE – Last Man Standing is a Long Island endurance running event using a Last Man Standing format. Runners complete a fixed loop every hour, on the hour. Finish the loop within the hour, and you earn the chance to start again. Miss the cutoff or decide you’re done, and your race ends. The event continues until one runner remains or the event time window concludes. To amp things up, every few hours we will lower the time cut-off.
The course will use designated park trails and/or park roads with a centralized start and finish area and aid station. Exact venue and course details will be shared once park permits are finalized.
THE HUB: WHEN YOUR RACE ENDS, THE DAY CONTINUES
This isn’t a race where you disappear when you’re done. As runners drop out, they move into the central hub area to refuel, rest, and hang out. People talk, recover, and support those still running. Most participants will spend time both on the course and at the hub.
There’s no formal spectator scene. Almost everyone there is part of the effort in some way. By the end of the day, the race naturally turns into a shared experience built around movement, conversation, and a good kind of tired.
WHO IT’S FOR & WHY IT WORKS
ENDURE is designed for everyone. Experienced endurance runners and people trying something new are equally welcome. The format is self-paced and forgiving. You don’t need to be fast, and you don’t need to know how long you’ll last before you start.
Each hour is a fresh decision. Some runners will stop early. Others will go deeper than expected. Either way, choosing to show up and push a little past comfort is the point. The challenge is real, but the environment is supportive.
At the center of the event is a shared hub that keeps the day moving even after your race ends. Between loops or once you’re done, participants regroup at a centralized area with food, hydration, recovery tools, ice baths, and space to sit, reset, and hang out. There will be low-key music, simple backyard games, and plenty of room to talk, refuel, and support the runners still going. Most people will spend time both running and posted up at the hub, which naturally turns the event into a long, social day built around effort, recovery, and community rather than spectators and sidelines.
