The focus of this camp to train runners to enjoy running and grow stronger by realizing the potential of the mind to help improve training and athletic performance. An athlete that has learned to work with the tools of the mind will find strength when put to the test of competition. This will be a physically active, 1-day camp, that will focus on topics such as developing a fun training habit, approaching hard workouts, race strategy, as well as tactical concepts such as race starts, hill climbing, descending, or cornering. The goal of this camp is to excite and enable runners to begin or continue a healthy running habit in preparation for the fall athletic season. This camp is also open to other athletes seeking to jump start their summer training.
Athletes are expected to be able to run at least two miles without stopping prior to the camp. The camp will be conducted on the wilderness trails of Russell Park in Ilion New York and conducted rain or shine. In the event of camp cancellation due to an unforeseen event, a full refund will be issued minus the processing fee.
The full day camp will require that athletes bring a bagged lunch, appropriate attire and water bottles. Athletes will need appropriate running sneakers for off-road trail running and NO SPIKES will be allowed during the camp.
About the staff: This camp will be conducted by experienced and nationally recognized coaches with backgrounds in athletic disciplines including trail running, mountain running, triathlon, distance running, snowshoe running and strength training. The diversity of backgrounds will lend to the overall athlete experience and provide athletes with a wealth of knowledge to aid in their athletic development.
Must register by June 23, 2017 to get a t-shirt.
