About the Organizer
This race is hosted by Rabble Rise Doughnuts, New Paltz & its owner Rachel Wyman.
Rachel added 'Race Director' to her resume in 2013 when she organized the first annual 5K Doughnut Run in Montclair, NJ. Over the last 10 years, the race has welcomed over 15,000 unique participants and it helped launch the Fueled by Doughnuts Running Club which continues to instill community values through fitness & rewards (doughnuts, of course!) through weekly group runs in Montclair, NJ.
To read more about the Fueled by Doughnuts Running Club check out this article from Runner's World Magazine.
To hear more about Rachel & her races & the club, listen to these interviews with the Ali on the Run Show and Another Mother Runner.
Running & baking goes so well together that Rachel wrote a book about it. You can order a copy of Will Run for Doughnuts with over 65 recipes and dozens of stories, here.
Course Info
The Baker's Dozen Half Marathon will start at the the lower, Awosting Lot located inside Minnewaska State Park. The course heads out on the Lower Awosting trail to Lake Awosting and turns onto the Upper Awosting trail to Lake Minnewaska where runners will head up to the Hamilton Point trail to get back to Lake Awosting and finish the race going downhill on the Lower Awosting trail to finish.
Please be advised, slight adjustments maybe made under the direction of the Minnewaska State Park as needed for runner safety.
The entire course is on beautifully manicured, wide, carriage roads. These are technically trails (not paved roads) but there are no 'technical trail' or single track portions of the course. It is an excellent introduction to off-road running or a great test of speed & endurance for our trail veterans.
