Run The Chocolate Challenge!
Due to COVID-19 and the chance of risking the public health by bring so many people together, we have decided to make the 3rd Annual Chocolate Challenge a virtual event. This is a charity race that supports Kelleigh's Cause, an organization created to raise funds for Arteriovenous Malformations (AVM) and rare disease research. This charity focuses on community involvement and we are disappointed that we could not be in person. Our goal remains the same, to hold a virtual community wide event while raising critical funds for necessary medical research and public education.
All runners will receive a shirt and we will still have post race chocolate!
Share with us your pictures and videos on social media by tagging @ChocolateChallengeRace on Facebook or by using #ChocolateChallenge or #KelleighsCause . Your photos will be shared on our social media so we can celebrate running the Virtual Chocolate Challenge with you!
Additional race information can be found at http://chocolatechallenge.org.
There will be a drive through package pick up at CNY Racing on Saturday August 8th from 10:00am to 4:00pm.
You will receive a Chocolate Challenge race shirt and a Chocolate Challenge chocolate bar!
6985 Collamer Road
East Syracuse, NY 13057
All the proceeds from this race go towards Kelleigh's Cause!
Kelleigh’s Cause, Inc is a nationally recognized 501(c)3 tax-exempt charitable organization founded in Central New York. Our charity is set up to raise awareness, provide family resources and fund research in the search to find a cure for arteriovenous malformation (AVM).
Funds raised are used to support translational research [the use of basic research techniques to solve clinical problems] in the field of vascular anomalies, in particular arteriovenous malformations. Money is needed to pay for the tests that analyze proteins produced by AVMs [mass spectroscopy], develop animal models to test new drugs for AVM, develop and test quantitative imaging tests for patients with AVM, and to pay the salary of a postdoctoral fellow to carry out the basic science needed to solve these problems.
We are currently supporting educational programs for the Crouse Medical Hospital Neurosurgical Unit, basic research at the Medical College of Wisconsin, and chemotherapy trials at Boston Children's Hospital.
Your support is greatly appreciated.
