The first Annual Chamber Runs and Walks OC 5k. Whether you are looking to race, run, walk or skip this an event for everyone! Celebrate everything Orange County has to offer! Each year the Orange County Chamber of Commerce will put on a 5k in a different part of Orange County highlighting all of the different aspects that make our county great. This year's course will be located in Thomas Bull Memorial Park in Montgomery NY. A mini race expo will feature multiple local businesses and while we can't have a post-race party this year-in the future we will!

3. Wave Start Format:
i. There will be no race day check-in. Rather runners will be designated start times to facilitate social distancing. Runners are asked to not
check in ahead of their designated start time. Arrive early? Hang with your car, stretch, relax...but please don’t make your way into the start area until your designated window.
ii. We will start 50 runners every 30 minutes beginning at 8:30am. The order will be the fastest runners first in order to maintain if not increase spacing among participant
4. General Protocols
i. Entrants will be required to wear masks (covering your nose and mouth) at the staging area (pre and post) unless actively eating / drinking
required to wear masks when in close (within 6 feet) and/or sustained contact with entrants or other volunteers, or while in contact with any
ii. Entrants are not required to wear masks while running / walking, but to be considerate while passing others.
b. No Aid Stations Runners will be expected to bring their own handheld water and energy if they wish to consume food/water on the course.
c. No spectators In an effort to reduce numbers on course, entrants are not permitted to have spectators or crews supporting them on course. Friends / Family are welcome to plugin as a volunteer w/ the event as an opportunity to see their runners on the course and help the event work in a volunteer-challenging year. Please have them email email@example.com to request plugging in as a volunteer.
i. The event will have a pump jug of liquid hand sanitizer at the start and finish for the use of entrants and volunteers.
ii. Runners and volunteers are strongly encouraged to bring their own hand sanitizer, using pre/post contacting any common surfaces and very much including porta-johns.
e. Exposure, and Risk:
i. Any entrant with fever, persistent cough, or with exposure to an individual who is/was COVID positive within 14 days of the event are asked not to race this year, and will have registrations rolled into 2022
ii. Any entrant deemed at heightened risk for complications due to exposure to an individual or within a community who are, are encouraged to differ their entry to 2022.
5. Registration and Packet Pick-up:
a. No race-day registration.
b. All registrants must pre-register
c. All entrants will be assigned mandatory start times which will be approximately 30 minutes apart from the next
d Packet Pick-up will be at Confluence Running Hudson Valley on Friday May 14th and Saturday May 15th from 12pm-6pm.
6. Start Time Format / Procedure
a. Each event will have staggered start-times with 50 runners sent off every 30 minutes. Note: the event is chip-timed, so while we’ll try to get as close as we can to planned / recorded start times, actual start and finish times will be accounted for when runners cross the start and finish mats. .
7. Course Configuration
a. The course follows a loop format ensuring that runners will not have to pass over the same area twice, which increases social distancing.
8. Aid Stations Provisions and Protocol:
a. There will be no Aid Stations
a. Swag will be provided at check-in and include:
i. Custom event T - can be pre-purchased and will be ready during packet pickup
i. There will be no Awards ceremony this year in an effort to reduce crowds around the finish. Awards will be announced later via email and Facebook.
11. Finish Times
i. Timing will be managed by: Super Race Systems
ii. Runners are strongly encouraged to note their start and finish times just in case chips misread.
Iii. timing/reports will be reported online that day. No on site time reports will be given as to discourage runners from staying after they finish.
12. Post Race Food
a. We will not be doing accessible post-race food this year per our need to reduce points of contact and post-race hanging around / crowding.
b. Finishers are encouraged to keep a distance from one another where possible, and to not stick around post-race too long.
13. Course Marking
a. We will mark the course with streamers and/or surveyor's flags and provide a course map to view online prior to race day.
14. Bathrooms (please bring hand sanitizer to use pre / post)
