The Jolly Roger 5K is one of the key fundraisers for the Palmyra-Macedon Select Choir. Proceeds support the domestic and international travel of the ensemble, as well as countless performance opportunities in the area.
Due to concerns with large groups gathering, we have decided to host this as a virtual race this year. Runners will have the option of picking up their swag, having it mailed to them, or not taking any swag this year.
This event runs in conjunction with Palmyra Pirate Weekend!
Top M/F in the following age groups 14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60+
If you selected the swag pick-up option, we will be in touch with pick-up date and time as we get closer to the date of the race.
* Details on race timing submissions will be emailed directly to registered runners by 7/31. Enter your times between 8/1 and 8/8 to be eligible for awards.
The Select Choir is a group of 32 students in 10-12 grade who are dedicated to vocal music and academics. In addition to their regular school concerts, the Choir is committed to musical community service throughout the area, and presents the annual Madrigal Dinners each December. The ensemble has performed extensively throughout the east coast, including Boston, New York City (Carnegie Hall in both 2014 and 2017), Philadelphia, and Chicago. International tours include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, England, Scotland, Wales, Greece, and Italy. Conductor Jill Davis has lead the group since 2007.
While this is a virtual race this year, you can still run our traditional course. It is known to be a fast course and perfect for a PR. It’s also part road and part canal path which allows for a scenic view of the Erie Canal as runners enter the Aqueduct Park area within the last mile.
Finisher medals for all finishers!
The first 150 registrants will get this short sleeve cotton t-shirt!
