We Race To Remember
Trooper Robert M. Burney became a member of the New York State Police on March 20, 1989. He entered into disability retirement from the New York State Police after 27 years of service on January 2, 2017. On December 9, 2023, he died as a result of colon cancer stemming from his assignment to the World Trade Center site, following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001.
Captain Christopher J. Garrow became a member of the New York State Police on October 30, 2000. On June 12, 2023, he died as a result of pancreatic cancer stemming from his assignment to the World Trade Center site, following the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. Captain Garrow served the Division of State Police for 22+ years and was last assigned to Troop B, Zone Headquarters in Lewis, New York.
