Happy Hallowe'en, Rochester Runners!—A History Run

12:00PM EDT - 3:00PM EDT
Open to ages 21+.

Place

1387 Mt Hope Avenue
Rochester, NY US 14620

Description

Start at Rochester Running Co.!
End at spooky Elmwood Inn!
Lotsa spooky history in between!
(Like 4 miles. Like at least 11 min pace. Like stopping every mile or so for spooky history).

The run costs $5; all participants will receive a $10 gift card/certificate to Rochester Running Co.

Your tour guide is Bo Shoemaker, M.A., J.D., LL.M., who was killed during the Battle of White Plains in 1776. He was decapitated by an American cannonball, and the shattered remains of his head were left on the battlefield while his comrades hastily carried his body away. Eventually they buried him in Mount Hope Cemetery, from which he rises as a malevolent ghost, furiously seeking his lost head and wielding a Jack-o'-Lantern as a temporary replacement and/or weapon.

NB: because we will be in close proximity, all participants should be fully vaccinated against Covid-19 before the event.
