Description
Spook out Cancer is the first annual Halloween-themed 5K to benefit The American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN). This event encourages all participants to come spend a beautiful fall morning in the Saratoga Spa State Park monster dashing, zombie walking, and for the babies, creepy crawling. Simply put, this 5K is for everyone, the runners, walkers, and everything in between.
All proceeds of the 5K will benefit ACS CAN, which is the American Cancer Society’s nonprofit, nonpartisan advocacy group that works to pass legislation and advance policy changes at every level of government to save more lives from cancer, reduce the cancer burden, and improve cancer care.
The event will start and end at the Orenda Pavilion. Want more reasons to come? They'll be a short group yoga stretching ahead of the 5K start, a local band playing the best hits, raffles, and of course, Halloween inspired treats to follow. Come in costume - or not - but you may win a prize for the most creative!
This event is being put on by a local stage 4 cancer survivor - Olivia Mannion - who is working to ensure that all patients have the same opportunity to prevent, detect, treat, and survive - or thrive - with cancer. If you're unable to make the 5K, please consider using the donation page to donate in memory or in honor of a patient, thriver, survivor, caregiver, or anyone impacted by cancer. If you're a local company who would like to sponsor the event, please email mannion.olivial@gmail.com.
*Contributions or membership payments to the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, Inc. are not tax deductible.
