We've gone Virtual
We tried what we could to keep the event to be an in person half. Though with the out and back format as well as the restrictions with Watkins Glen High ( our typical staging area) we would not be able to put on a safe event and did not want put anyone at risk. Our solution to this, will be to allow runners to use the RaceJoy app, with our course on it. We will have the "course" open to run from Aug 15th - Aug 30th - you'll still be able to park at Watkins Glen Highschool, run along the beautiful Catharine Valley Trail, turn around 6.55 miles later, and head on back. ( don't worry we'll have a sign out there for you) - Then you can upload your results.
We'll have a shirt and finishers award mailed to you during that 15 day period. Also in lieu of giving out awards we will give our random raffles to folx that sign up.

Description
General Description
The course uses an out-back format along the Catharine Valley Trail. Starting from Watkins Glen HS's athletic stadium (rear of the HS) it runs south, passing through the town of Montour Falls on its way to a turnaround point just shy of Millport. The surface is packed cinder w/ pavement through Montour. It's mostly flat for the opening/closing 3.5 miles w/ a gradual uphill from miles 3.5 to 5 (which you'll get more than paid back through its corresponding down on the return). It's a pretty fast course, good for both first-timers and those looking for a near-PR time.

Crew Directions
Crews wishing to get on the course may have luck in heading west to NY 14. Take a left to head south toward Montour. Take a right on Genesee St just under 2 miles down and look for roadside parking either immediately to see AS1, or head a bit further into Montour to catch runners as they pass the falls. Continue down S Genesee another mile or so to a parking small/limited parking area where runners cross by AS2. Either hang here until they return, or find the CVT crossing in Millport to catch them at the turnaround. (from the CVT crossing you'll have to walk about ¼ mile north on the CVT to the turnaround point).
