Our trained runners donate their time to take homeless dogs, found in rescues and shelters, out for much needed runs and socialization.

Packet pick-up will be at Second Sole Akrun, 1466 North Portage Path, Akron OH 44313 on Friday, December 7 from 4-7pm. Race day pick up will be at the Tuscarawas Shelter, Firestone Park, 2620 Harrington Road, Akron OH 44319 from 7:30-8:30am. We strongly encourage you to pick up your packet prior to race day.

RunningDog’s mission is to keep adoptable dogs physically active, mentally stimulated and emotionally balanced using a structured running and mentoring program. Our work helps to produce dogs that are more adoptable, as a dog that is kenneled for the majority of its day can suffer from anxiety and stress and does not show well to potential adopters. Our program provides regular, sustained exercise, which helps a dog to stay physically fit, while providing opportunities for leash training, exposure to new sights and sounds, and the chance for one-on-one human interaction.
