Overcomers: Walk a Mile in My Shoes 5K
In Honor of Overdose Awareness Month
Overcomers on the Move is proud to present the Walk a Mile in My Shoes 5K Run / Walk at the beautiful Battelle Darby Creek Park on Saturday, August 23rd @ 9am.
We hope you will spend your Saturday morning with us at the scenic Battelle Darby Creek Park. There will be lots of fun and sponsors most importantly knowing that every step you take is a stand against overdose. Every mile walked raises awareness, honors lives lost and supports those still fighting. Peer support empowers individuals to choose their own path to recovery because no one should walk it alone.
Runners and walkers will have their choice of a 5K (3.1 miles) or a 1 Mile Walk. All proceeds from this event will benefit Overcomers on the Move, a Recovery Community Organization located on the west side (Hilltop) of Columbus. Overcomers offer a Peer Led Recovery House, Peer Support and a Peer Internship Program. Each line of programing benefits those in early stages of recovery striving to achieve long term wellness and independence.

RACE INFORMATION:
START TIME: 9:00 am

ALL ABOUT IT: Each participant will receive a great custom tee-shirt (if registered before 8/1/2025), race bib, post-race refreshments and free parking.
RATES: 5K = $40 --- 1 Mile = $40
COURSE MAP: Coming Soon ...
PACKET PICK-UP: There will be no pre-packet pick up for this race. You may pick up on race morning starting at 8am at the race venue.
RATE SAVER: Walk a Mile in My Shoes offers a friends/family discount to any group of 4 or more. All you need to do is register together and the discount will automatically apply at check-out.
PARKING: Parking for racers will be FREE.
COURSE: This is a paved running trail that weaves throughout open grassy fields, thick beautiful forests and perhaps you will even spot a bison.
WATER STATIONS: 1 water stations will be available on the course.
POST RACE FOOD/DRINK: After you cross the finish line, OVERCOMERS will provide water and a post-race snacks so you may replenish and refresh.
DOGS: Friendly dogs on leashes are very welcome at this event.
