The Alicia Titus Memorial 5K & 1 Mile Walk/Run for Peace

When: Saturday, September 11, 2021 @ 9:03 a.m. (After a moment of silence) 

Where: Freedom Grove, 151 South US 68, Urbana, Ohio 43078

Course: 5K starts and finishes at South Pointe Parking Lot, course heads down South High St. right on Miami, right at Monument Square onto S. Main Street, right on Broadway, left on High Street on Freedom Grove, loops around the 9/11 Memorial on the track and finishes in the parking lot near the Community Building at South Pointe.

Parking: All Parking areas.

Registration (Virtual Options are available):  

5 K Walk/Run: Registration through Sept 8th is $20; Registration on race day is $25 and begins at 8:00 a.m.

1 Mile Walk/Run: Registration is $10 * 5yrs & under are free for the 1 Mile Walk/Run

Proceeds: Proceeds go to the Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund and Scholarship Fund

All participants are encouraged to wear their Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Run t-shirts from previous years or any other t-shirts that represent peace!!!!

Features: Water stop, post-race refreshments, awards (finish line) and door prizes. Children 's activities and live music will be held downtown in conjunction with the Art Affair on the Square.

Alicia was killed in the terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. She was a flight attendant on United Airlines Flight 175 that crashed into the South Tower of the World Trade Center.

The Alicia Titus Memorial Peace Fund was established at Urbana University in August 2002, by the Titus family and church friends, all of whom had close affiliations with the University.  The purpose of the fund is to carry out the legacy and spirit of Alicia’s life by sponsoring programs for the community that promote and support a culture of peace.
