Run/walk the race in style! In leau of shirts every 5K participant will receive a medal that lights up and Let's Back the Blue Challenge Coin! Great keepsake! Enjoy Hot Dogs, Chips and Drink at the Finish Line.
March 16, 2021- Currently the Let's Back The Blue 5K is planned as a live event however that does not completely eliminate the possibility that the event may be switched to a Virtual event due to government and health guidelines. This is a charitable fundraiser and if it is switched to a virtual event there will be no refunds. As a virtual event runners and walkers are encouraged to do their own run/walk consistent with CDC guidelines and the State of Ohio's health advisory states "Outdoor exercise like running or taking a walk is perfectly acceptable...While exercising outside, you should still practice social distancing by running or walking at least six feet away from other people." If you have a treadmill in your home you can complete your run in the comfort of your own house.
We are no putting any timetable on when you should do your virtual run. Please be cautious and wait until you feel totally safe exercising.
Let’s Back the Blue! Be part of something POSITIVE that will help make the job of those who put their lives the line for us day in and day out a little safer and more positive. National Police week is May 9-15, 2021. Let’s come together to respect, support, and appreciate our men and women in law enforcement. The Let’s Back the Blue 5K and Little Cop 1-Miler is a great way to start!
Run/walk the race in style! in lieu of shirts or medals, every 5K participant will receive a medal that lights up that you can wear after your run. A great keepsake.
For the kids, the 1 Mile Little Cop Runners receive their very own police badge
How a Virtual Run Works:
TBD: There will be 2 dates and times when you can pick up your 5K, 1 Mile run/walk supplies (bibs, pins and Kids/Dog’s badges). We will notify you of these dates.
Pick Up Locations: TBD. We will inform you about the options for picking up your race supplies.
Complete your run/walk anytime after the pick up dates, as convenient for you. This can be outside, or on a treadmill
Finally, post a picture of you with your crew and hat on our Facebook page, “Let’s Back the Blue 5K”
We will keep all race participants informed through email, and updates on this webpage. Thank you for your support during these difficult times.
Please understand that our no refund policy remains in effect. The Let's Back The Blue has already spent money to purchase items such as medals, and other services which cannot possibly be absorbed by the charity. We thank you for your support and understanding during this public health emergency.
Q: Is there packet pick up on race morning?
A: Race Day packet pick up is HIGHLY DISCOURAGED based on social distancing guidelines and the Race Day packet pickup we offer will be very limited. The race will start on time with no exceptions. Friends or family members may pick up your packet for you if they have your confirmation information.
Q: Do we have to wear a mask when we run?
A: You are not required to wear a mask during your run once you cross the start line. We're all following safety protocols under the circumstances. We are designing the start area to adhere to 6 ft distancing in the waved start corral. During those times of potentially closer contact we want everyone to wear a mask. When you leave your car and come to the start zone you must wear a mask. Once you start running, you may wish to remove your mask and that would be a choice that each runner must make. Once back in the finish area we ask that everyone wear a mask, except when hydrating or eating and maintain social distance. Please read the detailed instructions sent out during race week.
To recap: Do not come to the race without a mask and wear that mask before the race, when you are in the starting zone, when you cross the start line, and put it on again when crossing the finish line except when rehydrating or eating.
Q: Must spectators wear a mask?
A: Yes. We ask that all spectators wear a facemask and practice social distancing.
Q; I have a medical condition that makes wearing a mask difficult or uncomfortable. May I come to the race and not wear a mask?
A: No. If you have a medical condition please take advantage of our Virtual race option so you are not exposed to hundreds of other runners.
Q: How will we get our medals?
A: Runners at the actual race: Medals will be handed out with the food bags at the finish line. Runners for the Virtual Race: Medals will be included in their race packets.
Q: Can I change my event?
A: Yes. If you signed up for the actual race and now can't make it or feel uncomfortable running with hundreds of others that's ok. You can Transfer to the Virtual Run. Find your registration confirmation email and go to Manage Registration. From the webpage you land on look at the bottom blue area and Transfer Event. Then you can do the switch you want at no charge.
Q. How do I contact you if I have questions?
A: There is a RACE CONTACT INFO form on this website with a green button that says QUESTIONS?
If you have any questions about this race, click the button below.
