Description

Join us for the second annual Blazing Past Burns 5k and 1 Mile fun run to promote the Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp. Event will be sponsored by local businesses that are geared towards supporting children who are major burn survivors.

The event course is a 5k down and back route and a 1-mile loop that utilizes Kingfisher Trails multi-purpose trails. Prizes will be given for individual age group and overall winners. Registration includes a unisex race t-shirt, race bib with chip timer, and a swag bag.

Proceeds from the event are going to support the Oklahoma Firefighters Burn Camp. OFBC is a summer camp providing free of charge for children 6-16 that have suffered major burn or disfiguring injuries at any point in their lives requiring hospitalization. Burn Camp offers a chance for child burn survivors to make new and life-long friends with other burn survivors, in a setting of love, support, and unconditional acceptance. Adult burn survivors donate their time to show these children that their scars do not limit their ability to succeed in life and to help others. Awards: All participants will receive a Blazin' Past Burns event t-shirt, swag bag, & finisher medal. Awards will be given for overall male/female runners and 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place in Age Group's: 15 & Under, 16-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80-84, 85+

SWAG

Course Map

We will utilize the Kingfisher trail system and will only have one street crossing which will be traffic controlled by volunteers.

Packet Pickup

Packet pickup is scheduled for March 21st and the Kingfisher Chamber of Commerce building located at Hwy 33 and Hwy 81 from 1:00 to 7:00PM

Packet pickup will be allowed race day (March 22nd) from 7:30-8:30am at First Baptist Church ConNEXTion building.

Event Parking

Frist Baptist Church of Kingfisher has offered to us to use their facility for the morning of the event, there is plenty of parking and we even have access to the ConNEXTion in case of colder weather, perfect place to gather and stay warm.
