Free ORRC Member Poker Run/Walk!
This event is free for ORRC members who pre-register (and $25 for non-members). Everyone in the community is welcome!
Come one, come all! And don't stress about an accurate distance or time! This is just a fun way to spend Labor Day holiday morning. Don't be concerned about how fast or slow you are… the only thing that matters is your poker hand!
What is the Poker Run?
The Poker Run/Walk is a 5K course consisting of 3 out-and-back legs all within Greenway Park in Beaverton, starting and finishing at Tractor Park
The event is capped at 200 participants (due to limitations of the bike trail, and limited port-a-pottie!!!

NOTE: There is no day of race registration!
Event Start Times:
-7:00 a.m. Registration opens
-8 a.m. Start of the 5K
-The course will close at 10 a.m.

Rules of The Game
1) Packet pickup/start/finish line is at Greenway Tractor Park along the north-south Greenway Trail, ¼ mile to the East of Greenway Elementary school, along a connecting path.
2) The 5K begins at Tractor Park (where packet pickup is located) and heads toward Scholls Ferry Rd to the South. Participants turn around just before Scholls Ferry Rd., and return to Tractor Park. It then heads toward Hall Blvd. before turning around and heading back to Tractor Park. The final portion heads back toward Scholls Ferry Rd and turn around at the same spot, finishing at Tractor Park
3) Each participant starts with 2 playing cards. At each turnaround, the runner/walker picks up a playing card. After all participants have finished their loops, each person will have 5 playing cards to present their five-card poker hand at the finish line.
7) The runner/walker with the best poker hands wins!
PLEASE NOTE: the 5K is not a timed event and no medals will be handed out

Best Poker Hands
Royal flush - A, K, Q, J, 10, all the same suit
Straight flush - Five cards in a sequence, all in the same suit
Four of a kind - All four cards of the same rank
Full house - Three of a kind with a pair
Flush - Any five cards of the same suit, but not in a sequence
Straight - Five cards in a sequence, but not of the same suit
Three of a kind - Three cards of the same rank
Two pair - Two different pairs
Pair - Two cards of the same rank
High Card - When you haven't made any of the hands above, the highest card in a hand wins

Registration Fee:
ORRC members are free! (registration fee removed at checkout)
Non-ORRC members are charged $25
PLEASE NOTE: The event is limited to 200 participants due to the width of the bike trail and limited access to port-a-potties

Parking
Street parking is available proximate to Greenway Park Shelter at SW Greenway Blvd and SW Parkview Loop in Beaverton. The event begins by the basketball courts and play area in the middle of Tractor park.

Aid Stations
There are no aid stations on the course. Water is available at the start/finish zone.

Post Race Treats & Swag
Water, bananas and donuts/pastries will be provided. And every participant receives an ORRC Poker Chip!

The Course
The course is flat and paved. Course is open to bicyclists and other guests. Be aware of your surroundings.

Safety Rules
No dogs or strollers are allowed for this event due to narrow path widths open to both other runners, walkers and bicyclists.
The use of personal music devices is strongly discouraged at this race. To enjoy all that our race has to offer and for the safety of all participants, ORRC encourages a headphone-free environment during the running of the event.
