Road Runners Club (ORRC) is getting back to putting on events after almost a year and a half. But we need your help!
As a result of being a non-profit, all-volunteer organization, after this lengthy time off we need volunteers more than ever. To this end, we are asking for anyone who may be interested in helping put on our races in 2021 and 2022, to step up to the plate! We will train you, and provide support, and there are additional benefits!
As an ORRC member, you already get a discount on all ORRC race events, and every time you volunteer, you get a coupon for $40 off any ORRC event. However, if you decide to become a race director, you receive free entry to all ORRC events in the year you volunteer as an RD. That’s right… from the 5K to the Ultras, it’s all free!
This free workshop includes resource materials on how to put on a race, including a timeline of when things need to be done, and detailed lists of what is needed to put on an event. Designed as a low-key, informational training session we want to help you decide if this is something you may want to try.
And after attending the workshop, you can watch the Portland Marathon on Sunday, October 3rd, and see how it all comes together!
ORRC needs your help, and would greatly appreciate any time you can give to support the club, be it handing out water, or putting a race!
If you are interested in learning how to become a race director, or if you are interested in volunteering for any events in any capacity, or just have questions, please contact ORRC at email@example.com
