Pink Duck Virtual 5k to Stop Human Trafficking

IN OUR BACKYARD'S annual virtual 5k is here with a fun twist! 

Join the Pink Duck Virtual 5k to raise awareness! Together, we will race to speak up and stop human trafficking in your community in a positive way! This is a friendly 5k for all ages; you can run or walk to support the anti-trafficking nonprofit IN OUR BACKYARD.

PROTECT YOUTH FOR A LIFETIME THROUGH AWARENESS

Our Pink Duck Virtual 5K will take place from May 4 to May 11, 2024, to accommodate everyone's busy schedules. 

How to participate:

Complete the 5K at any time over the week-long period.
Walk, run, jog, or roll.
Go outside, use a treadmill, use a bike, walk around your neighborhood, walk around your center, use whatever you have!

Wear pink to make this a fun run/walk. Think pink, think feathers, think big! Let's see those selfies! Please take a photo and post it on social media. Be sure to tag us in your pictures using the hashtags #PinkDuck5K, #InOurBackyard, and #4Freedom so we can share them on our website and social media pages.

Race includes: 

Participants will receive a Pink Rubber Ducky with National Human Trafficking Hotline to raise awareness with friends and a race bib.

Race shirt purchase separately:

Shirts are available for $35 . Order T-shirt HERE  after registering. If you want your t-shirt in time for race weekend, be sure to order by April 17, 2024. Orders received after April 17 will still receive race shirts, but they won't arrive until after the race.

Your race protects more than 100 human trafficking victims during our Super Bowl intel operation in partnership with law enforcement and over 10,000 local youth through IOB's prevention program,m Teens Against Trafficking.

IN OUR BACKYARD, established in 2009, is now a survivor-led(2020) national
organization with more than a decade of dedication to the fight against sex and labor trafficking. IOB
links arms in the fight against human trafficking by empowering communities to prevent this atrocity
and creating access to Freedom for victims of human trafficking (HT). IOB Founder Nita Belles was
driven to take action to stop the exploitation of children, women, and men. Her book, In Our Backyard:
Human Trafficking in America and What You Can Do to Stop It has been acclaimed as the primer on
human trafficking in America. In 2020, Cheryl Csiky, a child-trafficking survivor, joined IOB as Executive
Director to further lead the mission and growing needs.
